There is an assortment of must-see film releases hitting the big screen this season and Red is one in particular that is said to be a hit movie for this year, especially if you are an action fan!

Red features the action king Bruce Willis, who plays the part of Frank Moses; an ex-CIA black-ops agent who is now in early retirement. Based in the snow drenched suburbs of Cleveland, Red offers a little romance and a lot of action. The film takes a sudden twist when uniformed assassins enter Frank’s house with the intention of taking him down. However, in true ‘Bruce Willis’ style, Frank fights back and hits the road on a mission to seek out his old teammates.

Red also features the actress Mary-Louise Parker who plays Sarah Ross, a customer service agent and Moses’ love interest.

Sourcing the original team leads both Mary and Frank to a retirement home in New Orleans, where they pick up the first member of the team in the shape of Joe Matheson, who is played by the infamous Morgan Freeman.

Marvin Boggs is the second member to be introduced to the story line and leads the others to an underground bunker in the Florida Everglades. Marvin, who is played by John Malkovich, is hiding out here due to a fear of the government.

The final member is Helen Mirren, who takes the role of Victoria; a glamorous assassin who now lives a Martha Stewart Life at home, yet still packs a few punches when push comes to shove!

Once the team is reunited they head to the CIA headquarters in order to find some reasoning behind why they have been marked ‘RED’, Retired & Extremely Dangerous.

The plot thickens as the gang discovers that Karl Urban, who plays the rising Special Agent William Cooper, is trying to take Frank down.

With the aid of a few old acquaintances, including Henry ‘The Records Keeper’ who is acted out by Ernest Borgnine and the ‘Russian Spy’ Ivan Sinanov, who is played by Brian Cox, the team reveal a twisted plot that involves a cover-up, which in turn leads to a high-impact and consequential outcome.

This is a great action movie for fans of the likes of Die Hard but if a cinema viewing is out of the question, due to price or time constraints, you can always watch it on dvd or watch it online when it hits the smaller screen in a few month’s time. I waited to watch his next movie “Inception” which had released with so much hype and to my surprise this movie had also lived up to its expectations and it even got rated in the top ten list of the internet movie database. I enjoyed watching it in the theaters and also I was waiting for its DVD release so that I can have one for me and keep it in the DVD collection of my favorite movies. In recent times, I came to know that the movie ‘Inception on DVD’ is available in the DVD stores and also I ordered for it in the online DVD store and I even got a free delivery of it that too in the next working day itself.
